Our classes are different. We don’t have dry, boring classes teaching you music you don’t care about. Each class will help you develop your skills whether you’re a complete beginner or you’ve been playing for a while. But, in addition to skill building, we really emphasize having fun, learning to play with others, expression and improvisation.
So, if you’re 13-19 and want to make music, come join us!
TEEN CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Want to play acoustic guitar and sing? Want to play screaming lead guitar in a band? Whatever your dreams, we can help you. In this class we spend some time helping you develop skills that move you toward your goals and the remainder of the time we jam! Even from day one, we’ll get you playing with others.
Come immerse yourself in the music. You’ll still learn but the emphasis is more on playing together in a group format. From absolute beginners to more advanced players, it’s a blast to play, sing and be a part of the music. No one is put on the spot – it’s easy to blend in and just let the music move you. This is a great way to make music a wonderful part of your life. The chords and lyrics are projected on a screen for all to see. Just like you might drop into a yoga class, you’re welcome to come to a Playing Class anytime.

Prior to my involvement with Harmony Music Center, I wanted to simply be able to play a song, at least one! It sounds simple, but learning a song means you must also learn the chords, rhythm, strumming patterns, and finger-picking. The way Andrew broke down instruction and his patience really allowed me to fully embark on my journey of learning how to play the guitar. His experience and his knowledge of guitars, assured me I was going to get good results being in his class. Over the course of a year, I can now play actual songs, and sing along to them! Mind you, I did this while being a full-time student, so the classes are easy to maintain in your schedule. I fully recommend these lessons to anyone who truly wants to learn how to play the guitar, as well as actually enjoy doing it too.
